IADT and Bray Institute of Further Education (BIFE) signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Tuesday last. The objective of this MOU is to establish a substantive new collaboration between IADT and BIFE. This arrangement will evolve a partnership on the basis of equality and mutual benefit and a commitment to joint staff development and events.

Andrew Doyle, Minister for State was in attendance and welcomed the formal collaboration between the two Institutions, saying that it reflected Government policy on collaborative partnerships and increased access to Higher Education.

BIFE students now have a commitment from IADT to progress onto their level 7 and 8 Degree programmes Up to 15% to 20% of places on IADT courses will be reserved specifically for further Education Institutes like BIFE. Therefore a BIFE student who completes a one-year Level 6 course can now progress into year two of an equivalent degree at IADT.

Dr Annie Doona, IADT President, pointed out a substantial number of BIFE students make up the student population at IADT and that she looks forward to seeing even more BIFE students there as a result of the signing of this MOU.

Ray Tedders, Principal of Bray Institute, was delighted to see the formalising of these long established progression pathways between IADT and BIFE. He said that the new agreement is a great development in the expansion of BIFE as a leading Institute of Further AND Higher Education.” We are delighted to have formalised our relationship with IADT who have been a very supportive Higher Education Institute and  learners will benefit from this agreement
