This course is aimed at students wishing to gain a nationally recognised qualification in Dental Nursing. The course will provide learners with the necessary skills to support other members of the Dental Healthcare team across the full range of dental treatments.

Learners will undertake a range of specialist modules in dental nursing theory and practice to develop the knowledge and skills to provide chair side support to dental
professionals and deliver a high level of patient care

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • Leaving Certificate or its equivalent. Extenuating circumstances maybe considered
  • Leaving Cert Applied
  • Full QQI Level 4 Award
  • Mature Applicants – experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications

Graduates of the NEBDN Diploma in Dental Nursing will be eligible to apply for entry to the Dental Council Register for Dental Nurses subject to final approval by the Dental Council of Ireland. Graduates can also gain post graduate qualifications to advance to roles in the area of oral health education and promotion, dental radiography, orthodontic therapy and dental hygiene.
