- Duration: One Year
The course is designed to prepare both male and female learners for life as a learner athlete. Existing soccer skills will be improved and applicants will also be introduced to a broad range of general coaching skills.
The PDP1 course is designed to assist parents and coaches, to introduce children (aged 6-9 years) to fun soccer games and fundamental movement skills in a well-structured, stimulating and safe environment
The PDP2 course is designed to assist coaches in the development of the player’s (aged 9-12 years) soccer specific and fundamental movement’s skills in game related functions, progressing into small sided games
The PDP 3 Youth courseis designed to assist coaches working within the youth game in acquiring the specific knowledge for the development of players working within the adult game. The course is aimed at providing the coach with knowledge, skills and competence to coach at this level.
The FAI National D Licence is designed to assist coaches working within the game in acquiring the specific knowledge skills and competence required at National D Licence Level. The coach will enhance their individual coaching experiences as well as developing an understanding of the Coach Education Licence Pathway.
The National ‘C’ Licence coach will be capable to coach a team during games based on pre-planned objectives to help enhance the development of the team while following their periodisation plan.
Learners that reach the required academic and football standard will have the opportunity to travel to the USA to participate in a tournament in Phoenix Arizona to be considered for a soccer scholarship.

- Entry Requirements
• Leaving Certificate (minimum of five 06/H7’s or combination of five 06/ H7’s) or its equivalent. Extenuating circumstances may be considered
• Leaving Certificate Applied
• Full QQI Level 4 Award
• Mature Applicants – experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
Places are offered following successful interview. Applicants will be requested to complete a personal statement for submission at interview.
Garda vetting is necessary prior to work experience placement.
