Where are they now?

Meet BIFE students who have graduated from this course...

Over the past 7 years I was a stay at home mum just raising my daughter.  Within this time I lost a lot of my confidence but as my daughter was growing up I felt like I now needed to get it back and have time for myself.

When I searched online and came across Bray Institute of Further Education (BIFE) and the volume of choice that they had I was amazed.  Even though it was late in the year to sign on to a course BIFE were extremely helpful and welcoming.

When I began this course I did not expect to achieve at the level that I did, I found that the support network from the teachers and also other students within my course really helped me.  I gained the experience and confidence I needed to go further with my career.  Before leaving BIFE I had received a requested for a full time position within a clinic which I have now commenced work in.  I have grown a great deal and am so thankful for the support and guidance from everyone at the college.  I feel that making the decision to attend BIFE was one of the best decisions I have made. - Jennifer Quinn

After many years of being at home looking after my children, I decided I needed to do something to exercise my brain.  I recently completed a QQI Level 5 at BIFE in Bray.  The course I chose was Medical Administration. I had a small bit of knowledge on the computer but I had no idea how much the course covered until I was doing it.  We covered a whole lot about Word processing, and many other modules I had never known anything about before.  While the course was challenging, it was just what I needed to get me back into working again.  And I was blessed with wonderful teachers to help me along the way!

As part of the course we had to do some work experience in a chosen field.  I chose a Nursing Home.  With the skills I had been shown from my teachers I was able to sail through the work without any hassle.

We were taught from a very high standard of teaching and all our teachers showed so much care and gave above and beyond what was necessary.  All of the teachers we had were equally dedicated to their job and it was evident in the results we got at the end of the year.

I absolutely loved every minute of the course.  My class became a little family for the year, and I am going to miss everyone so much.  My confidence has grown hugely, and I am ready for whatever comes my way now.  I never thought I would feel like this after doing a course.

I could not recommend BIFE highly enough, if you want to get back into the workforce, or you want to challenge yourself in any of the courses they have, I would just go for it! - Bernie Costigan

My decision to return to Education and complete a part-time QQI Level 5 course in Medical Administration has been very rewarding.  I knew I had a big challenge ahead of me and a very busy year.   From the very first day in BIFE I received excellent help and support from the class tutors.  Their assistance, support and constant feedback was very beneficial.  There is a lovely friendly atmosphere in the college and this was a very nice environment to train in.  Due to the various modules, I have completed, I feel I have gained a wealth of knowledge and self-fulfilment in the Business Administration area.  The skills I have gained during this year will be invaluable to me furthering my career.  This was a challenging course but one that I am very proud of completing.- Tracey Morgan

I completed the Medical Administration course in BIFE in 2016.  My time as a student gave me the skills necessary to confidently and efficiently approach day-to-day office tasks with a proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Sage 50.  With the Medical Terminology module I gained an understanding of medical terms, anatomy and the layout of healthcare records.  The course coordinator and all of the tutors are extremely helpful and engaging.  The modules included combine to create the ideal balance between essential office skills and and character building.  I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to improve their career prospects in the medical administration area. - Jennifer Burns
